A Budding Scribe Needs Your Love...

One of my loyal blog readers contacted me the other day. The poor guy seemed to really be down in the dumps. Just a bit of history: he’s in his mid-30s, lives alone in Hollywood, stuck in a crummy 9-to-5, and has been a budding screenwriter for, well, several years. Apparently no success as of yet, but he’s still at it, still toiling away, still trying to make a sale (or at least an option).

So he’s been pouring the details of his angst-ridden life into a column on a web site called HubPages. Not entirely certain what that is, but apparently it’s a place where you can publish your writing. (How is this different from a regular ol' blog??) So this loyal WS blog reader—who goes by the moniker “L.A. Screenwriter”—asked that I give his stuff a read. If I liked what I read, if I’d be kind enough to pass the links to his columns here on The Working Screenwriter blog.

OK, so I went to this HubPages, read the seven entries L.A. Screenwriter has posted. I actually rather liked what I read. Nothing earth-shattering, but certainly intriguing enough for pretty much any screenwriter who enjoys peering into the life of another screenwriter. One minute I was chuckling aloud, the next I was feeling a great tinge of melancholy. (Ah, the struggles of a budding screenwriter—I recall it well. Well, whatever.)

Below are links to the seven columns (I’m sure more are on the way). Give ‘em a read and see what you think. If you like what you read, I’m sure L.A. Screenwriter would like to hear from ya.

If you don’t like what you read, I strongly urge you to keep it to yourself cuz I have a feeling ol’ L.A. Screenwriter might just blow his brains out.

OCTOBER 2009 UPDATE: L.A. Screenwriter now has a blog. So now all the stuff that was on HubPages is here on Blogger. Visit his blog here!
